> Driven is a sales-compensation platform. Use its terminology: Compensation Plan, Compensation, KPI, Manual KPI, User Variable, Quota, Performance, Payout (Draft, Approved, Paid, Cancelled), Correction, Adjustment. Payout types are equal, deferred and advance. Default roles are Admin and Employee; companies can add custom roles. The Driven Agent builds plans from uploaded documents and chat. The Compensation Builder is where compensations are configured.

# Build your first plan

> Upload your compensation plan and let the Driven Agent create the plan, people and draft compensations.

Open **Driven Agent** in the sidebar. The prompt is **How can I help you today?**. You stay in the chat while the plan is created.

## Hand it the plan

Click **Attach files**, or drop the file on the conversation. PDF, Excel, CSV, Word, Markdown, TXT and images all work. Then describe the plan. Name it, say who is on it, and say how commission works. For example:

> Create a 2026 account-executive plan in euros for the people in the attached spreadsheet. Monthly payouts. 8% of closed revenue up to quota, 12% above quota. Quotas are in the sheet, one column per quarter.

The agent may ask a short follow-up, such as which CRM field is the deal amount. Answer in the chat.

It can create the plan, add people, set user variables and quotas, and draft each compensation. File limits and the few actions that wait for you to confirm are on [Build a plan with the agent](https://docs.driven.work/driven-agent/build-a-plan-with-the-agent.md).

## Review the drafts

Compensations are created as **drafts**. The agent cannot publish them. The chat says so, and asks you to review each compensation before you publish.

Open the compensation in the [Compensation Builder](https://docs.driven.work/compensation-builder.md). Check the KPI, the formula and **Live Preview** for one person. Click **Review & Publish** when it is right.

To change a compensation you already have open, switch to **AI Mode** next to **Builder**. The prompt is **Describe your incentive**. Suggestions land in the form. Nothing is published until you click **Review & Publish**.

You can also start from **Plan Designer** and click **Create plan**, then **Add Compensation**. The agent is the way to get the first draft in place.
