> ## Agent Instructions
> Driven is a sales-compensation platform. Use its terminology: Compensation Plan, Compensation, KPI, Manual KPI, User Variable, Quota, Performance, Payout (Draft, Approved, Paid, Cancelled), Correction, Adjustment. Payout types are equal, deferred and advance. Default roles are Admin and Employee; companies can add custom roles. The Driven Agent builds plans from uploaded documents and chat. The Compensation Builder is where compensations are configured.

# Teams

> Teams group people under a manager. Roll-up quotas and the managed-members filter use that relationship.

Teams are how Driven knows who a manager is responsible for. They are used by [roll-up quotas](https://docs.driven.work/compensation-builder/quotas.md) and by the **Managed members of team** deal filter.

Open **Users & Teams** and select the **Teams** tab.

## Create a team

Click **Create team** and name it, for example **Team Europe**. The list shows **Name**, **Members**, **Managers** and **Compensations**. The compensations column is the compensations that reference the team.

## Add members and a manager

On the team, **Add member** opens **Add team members**. The list shows each **Member** and who they are **Managed by**.

> Select one or more members and assign the same manager to all of them.

Each member has one manager on that team. **A member of this team cannot also be their manager.** **Change manager** updates the manager for the people you select.

The manager does not have to be a member of the team. Membership is the people whose deals and quotas roll up. The manager is the person those results roll up to.

## How this connects to commission

On a roll-up compensation, you pick the manager and this team. Driven builds that manager's quota from the quotas of the people they manage on the team, and can filter deals to those people.

A person can be on more than one team, with a different manager on each. The roll-up uses the team you selected on the compensation, not every team the person belongs to.

Changing who manages whom does not rewrite approved or paid payouts. If the change would alter what those payouts should have paid, review the difference before you save. See [Corrections](https://docs.driven.work/compensation-builder/corrections.md).
