Adjustments are manual changes to a Draft payout. You need Edit payouts on the plan. Locked payouts cannot be adjusted. Approve only after the draft looks right. There are three kinds.

Change a deal’s payout

On a row-based compensation, the Payout cell of a deal is editable. Type the amount the deal should pay. Edited values are marked as custom, and Driven recalculates the total. The adjustment is kept if you later publish a formula change that creates a correction. It is treated as a deliberate override, not as a CRM value. Per-deal payout edits are not available on a totals compensation. There is no per-deal commission to override. The message is per-deal payout overrides are not supported for period-based compensations. Change the formula, or add an extra item, instead.

Exclude a deal

The menu on a deal row includes Exclude. An excluded deal moves under Excluded from payout and drops out of the total. Restore puts it back. Use this when a deal matches the filter but should not be paid: a duplicate, a clawed-back deal, or one that closed for the wrong owner. Excluding it in the payout does not delete it from the CRM. The same menu has Refresh, which reloads the deal, and Ask AI. People who can edit the payout also see a Reviewed checkbox, so a reviewer can mark rows as they go through them.

Add an extra item

Add Item adds an inline row that is not a deal: a SPIFF, a bonus, or a deduction. Fill in Name and Amount, then confirm with the check. The trash icon removes an item. Both adding and removing are recorded. An amount can be negative, but the payout total cannot. Driven blocks a line that would take the total below zero, with Payout total cannot be negative. Extra items sit on the payout, not on a compensation. They are not part of a correction comparison. If you need the compensation itself to pay a different amount, change the formula or the deal payout instead.
Adjustments exist only while the payout is a draft. Approving locks them into the snapshot. To change them later you must send an approved payout Back to draft, which is not possible after it is marked paid.
